I saw Xavier Rudd open up for DMB a couple years ago and I was immediately a fan. His sound is so damn original, somewhere in between Bob Marley, Jack Johnson, and Ben Harper. The first song I ever had in my library was a song called "Jack". At the time it was his top song in the iTunes store but since them he has had several more hits.

Just checked Hypem and this was the #1 track. Mr. Little Jeans , ironically is a woman. Pictured darkly below. What I love about this Cry Wolf Remix of this Arcade Fire song covered by the aforementioned tight jean wearer, is its dubstep feel minus the drop. There are some sections that you might call a drop but really they are just dub womp womp influenced (no real buildup or beatdown section). I love how dubstep and electronic music are evolving and reacting with one another. The future is looking bright.

Aight, so all the roads are flooded around my house, leaving me with nothing to do but post some real shit for you guys. Here we go. These are the songs that I cannot stop playing for this week.

Chromeo. Two dudes, synths, great lyrics and everything good under the sun. These guys are unstoppable. My personal pick, Night by Night. Sampled so many times with thousands of remixes and none of them have surpassed the original.

Next up is a great mash-up that adds a new twist to a great track, Back to Earth by Cosmic Gate. We all have our preconceptions about what ze germans are good at: cars, machinery, fighting, but one thats left out is music. The germans along with the dutch and swedish have been dominating the European music scene for decades with DJ's and artists like Cosmic Gate. Even if this isn't your style, I encourage you to take a listen just to see what else is out there. This has been played at Electric Zoo Music Festival, A State of Trance ( the most popular and successful music broadcast show in the world) and live performances around the world. Alesso. He's Sebastien Ingrosso's (one of the 3 member of Swedish House Mafie) Protege and you can tell the resemblance. A new track influenced by possible the best electronic group in the world right now (they've headlined almost all of the festivals this year in Europe and most in the U.S), this is a track very similar to Avicii and Swedish House mafia with great vocals, a classic build and house-y drop perfect for a college party.

DEVolution - Good Love (Alesso Remix) by Cobra Records

This track is a mash-up of Arty, renowned for his synths, bass and beats, combined with a vocal sample of Imogen Heap. This is just...cool. I really don't know what else to say about this one, besides that. It's just cool. It doesn't have the musical intricacy of some other tracks, but its extremely well done, and its just cool. Very good rainy day track to chill out.

Seek Zara (SHato & Paul Rockseek Mashup) by DJ YOUNGPLAYY

Last up is Kaskade's essential mix. Chock full of bangers, this is one hell of a mix. Throw it on if you're feeling like not having to DJ for a few hours or just enjoy some amazing work by one of the best out there. Fucking love this dude. And he gives out his music for free. Awesome.

Pink Ganter remixes William Fitzsimmon's So This is Goodbye into a moody, slow and beautiful track that is perfect for any situation where romance is in the air. The slow tempo makes it a great song to start with in a playlist and it gets you in a groove and lowers your blood pressure so much you might as well be in a coma. Beautiful work.

A Change of Pace

I hate mondays. Blood pressures way up, Eli pulls a win out of his ass because of circus plays by his receivers, and im doing work all day. Balls. But Tuesday, much better. I can chill now that I had a manic monday. So to suit this mood, I'm bringing out some chill jams to bring your blood pressure down and zone out for a bit.

This group is called Common Ties, based out of Boulder, Colorado and they've been mostly under the radar so far. They've synthesized a genre of electronica mashed with jamming, kits, drums and percusion mixed with a varying tempo that leaves you bobbing your head regardless of the direction the song takes you. Most of their songs are filed under the music classification of Jam, which is probably the best idea. Its a soft rock with synths that I love. Spotlight: RAC Remixes

What's up gang....

food safety is finally over...rejoice! Tonight I am going to do a spotlight on a group that I have been following since I heard their mix of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero's- Home (find below).

"RAC" or "Remix Artist Collective" was started up by Andre Allen Anjos, who started producing in Portugal. He lives in the States now (Oregon) and is involved with a wide variety of different media outlets. He has done soundtrack producing for Entourage on HBO, advertisements for Coca Cola and the NBA and he also did the soundtrack for "Holy Rollers" with Jesse Eisenberg (movie about Hasidic Jew drug dealers...ballin). The part that I love most about his work however (guesses?) is his music. RAC's style is tough to describe. He mainly does remixes (although it says on his website he does write his own songs), and he does a great job of sticking with the original feeling of the song, while adding his own distinguishable flavor. You really will just have to listen for yourself.
