Aight, so i don't usually listen to much hip hop, but this is a worthy exception. His new album Cole World was released a few days ago, and after listening to it a few times, I can conclude, its FUCKING sick. Link for the whole album below. Happy friday.
RZA is the Wu-Tang Clan’s chief producer. Also known as the Abbott, Prince Rakeem, Rzarector, Bobby Steels and Bobby Digital he was born as Robert Diggs. RZA first surfaced in the rap game during the early '90s as a member of the rap group All In Together Now, a group from Staten Island, New York which also contained fellow Wu-Tang members such as GZA/Genius and Ol' Dirty Bastard.
RZA- Grits

Kids & Explosions
"Kids & Explosions is a boy who makes songs by stealing other people's songs and making them worse."
-Direct quote from Kids & Explosions (you will see what he means...)
Kids & Explosions- Everything
Kids & Explosions- New Science
Kids & Explosions- There is a Burning Ball of Fire in Outer Space
This electro-oriented banger from B.O.B. and Lil' Wayne is an unexpected sound from this duo, but you can't deny its effectiveness and ragin sound. Weezy kills his verse.
One of the fastest rising young DJ's in the world, Alesso has been killing nightclubs all over the world and is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
I personally love driving, so when I find a concert set available for download, I tend to drive for hours just to listen to the show and jam out. One of the best places to find larger tracks and bigger sets for your music library is the Essential Mix on Radio 1. The Essential Mix is a show created by BBC Radio 1 in the '90's to showcase sets by electronic and alternative artists. It is currently hosted by the Legendary Pete Tong, and has had guests like Deadmau5, Daft Punk, Jaris Voorn, Justice, Pendulum, Wolfgang Gartner, Kaskade, Tiesto and many more. These typically 1 to 2 hour sets given to BBC1 by the artist are a look into the production of each artist when they're at a live show, or if you just want to hear a mix of great songs played by a great DJ or artist. So here we go, a short sampling of the great mixes out there from BBC Radio 1 with Pete Tong.

First Up: Swedish House Mafia Live at Creamfield Dance Festival 2010
So here are a few new mashups that I have been digging over the past couple days. The first is the new White Panda which mashes Tom Petty and Biggie which turns out to be a nice chill track. The second one is a mash of all kinds of shit, it's by Childz Play who are up and comers in the genre, its not necessarily a party tune but its something you could probably rock late night to keep the party atmosphere level. The third is a collab between Yoni and DJ Dibella which consists of Cobra Starship, Dev, DallasK, and Jasper Forks.
As part owner of the former New Jersey Nets, Jay-Z announced monday that the Nets will find their new home beginning in 2012, you guessed it, in Brooklyn! Now there are bound to be all kinds of haters coming out of the woodwork on this one from borough organizations, to fans, to plane ol' haters but at there's gotta be at least a few people like me that think it's good. I mean come on, who didn't love the Brooklyn Dodgers?
Try to forget that if still around today they would be every hipsters favorite baseball team. Luckily the Barclays Center is located in the Boerum Hill area of Brooklyn, a safe 20 minute trip up the BQE from Williamsburg, and hipsters only pretend to like sports. Jay announced he will personally open the Barclays Center with a special concert series when the 18,000 seat arena opens in September. But not content to take a backseat now that he officially has achieved ultimate baller status and actually owns a basketball team, Jay is going one step further and helping to design the uniforms. Now you know that's gonna be dope.
Some might remember this line from Scarface, others might remember it from the Slick Rick Classic Hey Young World.Either way...it's a prolific thought.
I'm excited to finally be sharing some of my thoughts somewhere. As PR major and grizzled social media vet, I've always thought, "What's the point of putting content out there if no one is going to read it?" I want the all the results without the work. Well times change, and it's high time I start unloading some of my thoughts for the all the internet to marvel at and exclaim excitedly, "Oh where have you been all my life?!"
I like kicks, chicks, clothes, and most of all good music. I plan to write about all of the above.
Here's the Nas remake of Slick's classic track to get us started and give ya'll an idea of where I'm at.
Sup haters hope you had a good weekend. This post is about one song and one song only. Wolfgang Gartner just came out with a new album (leave a comment if you want it, I'll send it to you, if I post it, it'll be removed), but I waaaaaay more excited about this. He's dropped this tune at his live shows, and this is the first time I've been able to get my hands on the full version. DEAR GOD. THIS IS INSANE. I don't fully understand how he's not more well known with shit like this. get this.
Alright so my boy Henry E. just hit me up via facebook with this artist who I had never previously heard of, but from what I can tell, is extremely DOPE.
This tape called: Provisions: Drop 1 By The Late Giles Dawson
Here's one of my favorite (non mainstream if you will) rap groups; The Cool Kids.Antoine "Sir Michael 'Mikey' Rocks" Reed and Evan "Chuck Inglish" Ingersoll make up the duo and they produce most of their own songs. Pretty sick.
Here are two tracks that will bring you back to the beachand summer sun.
The Cool Kids Ft. Mayer Hawthorne- Swimsuits
The Cool Kids Ft. Maxine Ashley - Summer Jam
and then....
Lupe Fiasco Ft. Asher Roth, Charles Hamilton, The Cool Kids, Blu, Diggy, BoB and Dosage- We Beamin'
My chef just made us some espresso for the F1 Race at Singapore. GO VETTEL
Here are a couple tracks for your lazy sunday. And for my lazy fucking crew of posters who need to stop having lives and get on their game.
OUTASIGHT Richard Andrew, better known by his stage name Outasight, is an American rapper and singer from Yonkers, New York. Though he is considered a Hip-Hop artist, he draws influence from other genres such as classic rock and soul, and describes his music as "Energetic hip hop mixed with melodic soul" In October 2009, Outasight signed with Warner Bros. Records under Asylum Records. His first full length studio album is set to be released by Warner Brothers Records.
WOLFGANG GARTNER Joey Youngman created the Wolfgang Gartner name in late 2007 after establishing a moderately successful name as a Deep House DJ. Not wanting to be criticized for such an abrupt change in style, Youngman created the name anonymously. Gartner's identity was revealed officially in July 2008. In 2010, Gartner debuted as a featured guest on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix series, hosted by DJ/producer Pete Tong.In January 2011, Gartner announced a new video for the single Illmerica. In addition, the DJ announced a new logo created by famed New York graffiti artist Eric Haze. That same month, Gartner was nominated for four International Dance Music Awards, including Best Electro/Tech House Track, Best Progressive Track, Best Breakthrough DJ and Best Breakthrough Artist. Forever, a new collaboration with will.i.am, was released on April 12, 2011. His album, Weekend in America was released on September 20, 2011.
So I bet most of you have heard this band in one way or another. They did that Heineken commercial with the ninja and james bond kinda guy. That was a 45 second preview but there is really a four minute song called The Golden Age by The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. Its a great track with an old time feel, tons of instruments.
Alright so as my comrade mentioned in a previous post (but did not quite exaggerate the importance of) AVICII (!!) will be performing at Pier 94 in NYC on New Years Eve. That fucking dope, America rules!
Anyway if you want tickets and you happen to be the offspring of Rajah Gupta, DSK(HA), or Paul Allen, get them here:
STUB HUB AVICII NYC NYE
--just tried getting two for me and my lady friend but they're 400 bucks a pop. Buenas Suerte!
Alright so its rainin' hard up here in RI. The Ocean State. Here are some random tunes to chill to on a dreary day like today
Mark Knopfler (of Dire Straits)--Sailing to Philadelphia Utah Saints- Something Good Afroman- I Live in a Van DJ B-Roc- Nanana (From Refresh) JJ- Ecstasy Marky- Infinity Yonas- Pumped Up Kicks (Remix)
Aight, so all the roads are flooded around my house, leaving me with nothing to do but post some real shit for you guys. Here we go. These are the songs that I cannot stop playing for this week.
Chromeo. Two dudes, synths, great lyrics and everything good under the sun. These guys are unstoppable. My personal pick, Night by Night. Sampled so many times with thousands of remixes and none of them have surpassed the original.
Next up is a great mash-up that adds a new twist to a great track, Back to Earth by Cosmic Gate. We all have our preconceptions about what ze germans are good at: cars, machinery, fighting, but one thats left out is music. The germans along with the dutch and swedish have been dominating the European music scene for decades with DJ's and artists like Cosmic Gate. Even if this isn't your style, I encourage you to take a listen just to see what else is out there. This has been played at Electric Zoo Music Festival, A State of Trance ( the most popular and successful music broadcast show in the world) and live performances around the world. Get it here, from out friends at http://www.stopbreathebump.com/2011/09/cosmic-gate-back-to-earth-vs-chase-the-sun/.
Alesso. He's Sebastien Ingrosso's (one of the 3 member of Swedish House Mafie) Protege and you can tell the resemblance. A new track influenced by possible the best electronic group in the world right now (they've headlined almost all of the festivals this year in Europe and most in the U.S), this is a track very similar to Avicii and Swedish House mafia with great vocals, a classic build and house-y drop perfect for a college party.
This track is a mash-up of Arty, renowned for his synths, bass and beats, combined with a vocal sample of Imogen Heap. This is just...cool. I really don't know what else to say about this one, besides that. It's just cool. It doesn't have the musical intricacy of some other tracks, but its extremely well done, and its just cool. Very good rainy day track to chill out.
Last up is Kaskade's essential mix. Chock full of bangers, this is one hell of a mix. Throw it on if you're feeling like not having to DJ for a few hours or just enjoy some amazing work by one of the best out there. Fucking love this dude. And he gives out his music for free. Awesome.
So I spent some time last night putting this mix together with a friend over at areyounotentertained.com, this is some of the newer stuff I've been listening to over the past week or so and it should keep the feet moving for the weekend. Avicii NYE NYC by the way.
